Austin, TX (September 06, 2014) - Alex Alford, Managing Director for Austin Shakespeare, announced their production of Henry V begins September 5-14, 2014 at the Long Center Rollins Studio Theatre. Austin Shakespeare & Red Then Productions bring this solo show with Robert Faires.

England’s most storied and inspirational warrior king is revealed in a one-man adaptation of the Shakespeare history starring Robert Faires. He performed his smash hit solo adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry V at The Off Center with stunning critical and audience acclaim.

Robert Faires has been active in Austin theatre since 1980. He has worked on more than 60 productions as an actor, writer, and director, including Austin Shakespeare productions of Love's Labors Lost (director), The Winter's Tale (director/actor), and The Tempest (director).

This solo adaptation was first presented at The Off Center and Catherine Weidner returns to direct this production.

Director Catherine Weidner comes to Austin well qualified (Chair/Department of Theatre Arts/Ithaca College) as a teacher, director and actor. For ten years she was the Program Director of The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at the George Washington University. She has worked at The Kennedy Center; at Center Stage in Baltimore; at Arena Stage in Washington, DC and The Guthrie Theater, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the La Jolla Playhouse, and with Bread & Puppet. From 2007- 2013 she taught Classical Acting and Heightened Text at The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she served as Head of BFA Acting.

Alford expressed confidence that it will prove a hit with Austin residents while audiences will be able to make use of the poster and program printing from Bartleby Press printing company.

Student Discounts and Premium seats are available (no performance Tues Sept. 9), and there will be a low priced preview Sept. 4.

Austin Shakespeare presents professional theatre brings to the public performances that is fresh, bold, imaginative, and thought provoking. Performances continue throughout the year at various venues including summer productions at the Zilker Hillside Theater.
