The Longest Day for Alzheimer's is an annual day of fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association

Frisco, Texas, June 21, 2024 - The Cottages, a trusted and compassionate provider of memory care living, is soliciting widespread participation in Alzheimer's awareness, scheduled for June 21, coinciding with "The Longest Day for Alzheimer's".

This globally recognized day serves as the main fund-raising platform for the Alzheimer's Association, aligning with the summer solstice – the day with the most light. From sunrise to sunset, people worldwide take part in numerous activities in acknowledgment of the hard reality that for those affected by dementia, every day is the longest day. With this event, The Cottages invites individuals to bathe in the brilliance of the summer solstice and unite against the cloud of Alzheimer's.

"The Longest Day for Alzheimer's serves as a beacon of light and hope in the fight against Alzheimer's and other memory disorders. Through various activities, we seek to compound that light by igniting awareness about memory disorders, educating about the importance of early diagnosis, and fostering a network of support within our community," said a representative from The Cottages.

The Cottages, with locations across Texas, lead in pioneering care through a person-centric program that respects the dignity and uniqueness of each resident. Designed for those living with memory disorders like Alzheimer's, The Cottages provide a tranquil environment that promotes well-being and fosters the sense of home for each resident.

Support from The Cottages reflects their dedication to their commitment to the Alzheimer's Association. The Association stands on the frontlines as the leading diplomat for Alzheimer's awareness, research, care, and support across the U.S.

"The Longest Day for Alzheimer's is not just a fundraising event," shared a representative from The Cottages, "but it's also a day where we build community and awareness, heighten understanding of Alzheimer's, and inspire action against the disease."

The Cottages urge everyone to step forward and join in this noble cause on June 21. You can participate by choosing an activity you love, planning your event, and asking others to join you in supporting those living with memory disorders. This initiative is not only about fundraising; it’s about empowering, engaging, and echoing the need for awareness and support for those affected by memory disorders.

Various ways to participate are open to creativity and personal preference, from organizing your own event or simply making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. Every effort matters. Every contribution, regardless of its form, helps to light up this longest day and contribute to a future where Alzheimer's and other memory disorders are a thing of the past.
