FeedTech Expo 2023 (FTE23), the 2nd edition of Botswana’s only feed technology dedicated trade fair, will be held on 27-28 October 2023 at the Stockman’s Farm in Tlokweng.

The show, which offers leading-edge innovations and opportunities in the feed industry, will be held under the same theme as last year’s: "Transforming Challenges into Opportunities: Accelerating the growth of Botswana’s livestock feed industry value chains".

Just like last year, the event will bring together farmers, veterinarians, latest feed technology, animal nutritionists, feed manufacturers, feed formulators, feed raw material producers and technical sales consultants from Botswana and abroad, all under one roof.

The objective of FTE23, which will be made up of presentations, demonstrations and exhibitions, is to avail a platform where all stakeholders can come together and share knowledge needed to transform agricultural sector, especially to develop and grow local companies. Currently Botswana farmers require over 180,000 Mt of feeds on an annual basis, majority of which are largely imported.

As such, the Expo is essentially a vehicle through which all those involved in the sector can explore technologies that can be adopted by local feed industry players in order to improve their production through collaborations between farmers, feed production companies and leading agricultural research institutions from Botswana and the region. The event also aims to help farmers understand, through presentations and workshops, how feed can be the difference between profitability or lack thereof, of their farming enterprises.

FTE23 is a free to attend event and this year it is expected to bring more than 2000 visitors both local and international over two days, a significant increase from last year’s attendance where close to 700 graced the event. In 2022, the inaugural fair had more than 20 exhibitors and it is expected more will attend this year. The service providers had an opportunity to connect, network and get valuable feedback from their current and prospective customers as well as suppliers.

From exhibitions to workshops and demonstrations, key industry players will be at the FTE23, sharing complete value chain information of feed industry such as raw materials and their alternatives, use of feed supplements, animal nutrition and health, silage production, feed milling machinery, financial services as well as the latest technologies.
