INSTANT CHRISTMAS TREE EFFECT GOT 20M VIEWS
AR creators Karen X Cheng and Rustam Mirzakhmedov collaborated to bring everyone an Instant Christmas Tree. It doesn’t matter if the user is too lazy to put up a Christmas tree or if it’s not in the budget this year. A World effect on Instagram, where a Christmas tree grows under your living room floor, has already gained over 20M views in 2 weeks and started a new challenge on Reels with over 14K videos. This filter allows users to be creative and have fun with family and friends while filming the Story or Reels. They are watering seeds on the floor, using a wand, or being Grinch who pushes the tree under the floor.
Creators had the incredible challenge of fitting realistic tree models and animation into 4MB (the Instagram filter size limit). Also, the physics and dust particles make the effect more realistic.
This project shows that AR can elevate creative ideas to the next level. Moreover, it can engage audiences easily and longer than other digital content types.
