The Haryana Govt has decided to make Yoga mandatory in every school and equip every sport stadium in each district with a yoga centre.

Yoga practice will be held in every school during zero hour period and it’ll be treated as a crucial branch of the sports training programme, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar mentioned while inaugurating the new sports plan "Haryana Physical Activities & Sports Policy-2015" on Swami Vivekanand’s birth anniversary, here on Monday.

“Proper techniques will be established to aid athletes enhance their concentration, mental strength and flexibility which are essential for high-quality accomplishment. One yoga centre in each district’s sports stadium will be opened as a crucial part from practice and training” he said.

The CM also said municipal bodies & HUDA (Haryana Urban Development Authority) would build yoga practice hall in their vicinities of authorities.

Special training of physical education instructors in yoga will be prearranged. The education department will comprise yoga as a topic in the curriculum of all degree & diploma-level programme of physical education.

The International Day Yoga Day would be celebrated on 21st of June every year. Apart from yoga camps, yoga contests will be prearranged at different levels for diverse segments & age-groups, the CM said.
