How to filter your transformer oil?

Posted April 7, 2017 by assenoilpurifier

High demand and rising costs are a driving force in utilizing the transformer performance. Many transformers are being pushed to their limits with demands on minimizing downtimes and maximizing performance.

Maybe the first question should be, “why is it important to have purified oil in a transformer?” Dissolved gasses in transformer oil can cause arcing, corona discharges, and overheating--reducing the electrical efficiency and lifetime of the transformer. Likewise, water contamination at levels as low as 30 ppm (parts per million) can adversely affect the insulating strength of the oil. With ever-increasing standards for energy efficiency of power distribution transformers, the need to effectively degas will become even more important in the future. particles contamination will also affect the function of insulating oil. So we need to clean used transformer oil.

Our ASSEN ZYD type Double Stage Transformer Oil Purifier Machine is suitable for degasification, dehydration and filtration of electrical insulating fluids, and used for filling and pressurising of cables or transformers.

Performance in a Single pass through the model ZYD transformer oil purifier at a full flow rate as follows:
1-Degasification: From fully saturated of 12% down to 0.1% by volume;
2-Dehydration: From 50PPM to 3PPM;
3-Filtration: 98% of solid particles over 1micron to be removed out.
