Grand Canyon 123 Unveils October Trip Deals

This month is a great time to take a Grand Canyon National Park tour, especially considering there are trip deals that reduce the price by up to 25 percent.

Las Vegas, NV, October 01, 2013 -- Grand Canyon 123, the leader in information on National Park tours and deals, announced today the release of a new set of discounts specifically for fall visitors.

"Special trip promotions range from helicopter tours and airplane flights to bus tours and Skywalk tickets," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon 123. "There's quite literally something for everyone."

Offers are good for trips from Las Vegas, NV, and Phoenix, AZ. "Of course," said Kravitz, “visitors in Sedona, Flagstaff, Scottsdale and Williams are welcome to take advantage of these deals, too."

Travelers will find that the biggest discounts are on helicopter tours. "The aerial tour from Las Vegas leads the way in terms of prices cuts," said Kravitz. "It's not uncommon at the moment to book it at 20% under retail."

Another tour that's marked down for October is the West Rim landing tour. "This is the one that takes off from Las Vegas, goes over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam and lands at the bottom of the canyon for a Champagne picnic.

"Currently it's being discounted between 15 and 20 percent from retail, depending on the time of day and demand. If one finds a great price, my advice is to purchase it immediately as this tour sells out regularly."

In general, Kravitz noted, its wise to purchase any Grand Canyon tour at least a week in advance. "Reserving trips within 72 hours of departure is risky," he said. "And don't even bother with 24-hour reservations except for bus tours."

As noted, canyon tours originate from Las Vegas, Tusayan, AZ, and Phoenix, AZ. Vegas trips go to the West Rim and the South Rim of the National Park. Tusayan and Phoenix excursions only do the South Rim.

"If travelers are determined to visit the South Rim from Las Vegas, I urge them to consider the direct airplane tour," Kravitz noted. "The flight takes only one hour and includes a 2.5-hour ground tour inside the Park. This same tour can be upgraded to include a helicopter ride, which, frankly, is spectacular."

Helicopter tours from Las Vegas go to the West Rim, which is the only place in the Park in which these aircraft are allowed to fly to the bottom and land. Tusayan helicopters are available as 30-minute and 50-minute flights.

"The best Vegas landing tour is one that lands at the bottom and comes with a boat ride and Skywalk tickets," Kravitz said. "As for Tusayan, go with the 50-minute tour because it covers up to 75% of the National Park."

Deals on canyon tours abound for online shoppers. “These days, the Web is the only way to go,” said Kravitz. “It’s safe, convenient and fast. But most importantly, it’s the guaranteed way to get the best price. The only thing travelers need to remember is to complete their transaction online in order to qualify for the Internet discount.”
