Chicago, IL, March 29, 2014 -- The rap is that the hardcover could go the way of the steam engine. Don't tell anyone that at the upstart press Koehler Books. www.koehlerbooks.com They have just released their first hardcover of Bestselling author William Hazelgrove's www.williamhazelgrove.com book The Pitcher http://www.amazon.com/Pitcher-William-Hazelgrove-ebook/dp/B00DMOO3RM/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=&qid= and plan to lead with Hazelgrove's next novel Real Santa as a hardcover in the fall. The kicker is Koehler is releasing the hardover after the paperback.
"I knew after the Junior Library Guild selected the book and the strong reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and Booklist that I had a potential classic on my hands," John Koehler said from his office in Virginia Beach. "This book is flowing into the libraries and schools and bookstores and selling very well and I thougth now is the time to let everyone know this is a book for the long haul and it was time for Koehler Books to take the next step into the big leagues with a hardcover release."
Koehler Books has just signed Hazelgrove for two more books to follow The Pitcher. "I think this story of a Mexican American kid with a golden arm and a broken down World Series pitcher who coaches him to make the highschool team while his mother is being deported is relevant and very well written."Koehler Books had just broken from Morgan James Publishing to go on their own. When asked about the wisdom of bringing a hardover into a market plagued by ebooks, John Koehler shrugged and held up orders. "Tell that to the people already pre ordering the book."
