Workforce Development Board of Ventura County to host webinar on how to retain, inspire, and motivate employees

Retaining employees and limiting turnover is becoming increasingly important for companies. It has been well-documented that employee turnover is costly and disruptive. According to the Society for Human Resource Management (https://www.enrich.org/blog/The-true-cost-of-employee-turnover-financial-wellness-enrich) (SHRM), on average it costs a company 6 to 9 months of an employee's salary in recruiting and training costs to replace them. To help increase retention in Ventura County businesses, the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County (WDBVC) is hosting a no-cost virtual training event to teach local employers how to implement a proactive approach of inspiring instead of firing, assess coaching skills, and how to coach during on-the-job training.

The training will be held virtually on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 10am to 11am. If you are interested in attending this no-cost webinar, you can register at https://www.employers.org/events/private-webinars/don-t-fire-them-inspire-them-sponsored-by-ventura-county-regional-hr-hotline/07/18/2023/. The WDBVC has also partnered with the California Employers Association (CEA) to provide an HR hotline that is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and can be reached at 888-763-3174.
