The short and sweet of this miracle molecule known as Hypochlorous acid (HOCl – with a lower case “L”) is that it is created within the human body and produced by the various white blood cells of the immune system.

HOCl, as found in BSafeHOCl, is produced by all mammals; a substance that originates within the human body also known as an endogenous molecule.

There are different types of white blood cells (known as leukocytes) that act as your immune system’s specialised defence. These various white blood cells (such as neutrophils, eosinophils, mononuclear phagocytes, and B lymphocytes) produce HOCl in response to injury, infection and inflammation.(1)

Many skin conditions, including aging, loss of elasticity, dryness, acne, blemishes, eczema and many more have an underlying infection, inflammation or loss of collagen and natural oils as the root cause.

This molecule protects us by effectively eliminating a wide range of micro-organisms and pathogens like bacteria, fungi, protozoa, microbes and viruses.

Due to the molecule being native to the human body, it only affects invasive entities by destroying the cell walls consequently eliminating or inactivating them.(2) HOCl’s eliminating power has been proven to be highly effective. Even infectious diseases, which are caused by pathogens, are deactivated by the process of chlorination. HOCl uses chlorination by (forming chloramines and nitrogen centred radicals, resulting in single- as well as double-stranded DNA breaks, rendering the nucleic acid useless and the pathogen harmless).(3)

HOCl also acts as an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, oxidizing and rehydrating agent within the human body.

BSafeHOCl Facial mist is created with a concentration of 180ppm. Effective against pathogens within 1 minute of contact, yet harmless to the skin and eyes, it leaves the skin naturally restored and rejuvenated.

At a concentration of 300 ppm, BSafeHOCl in tablet form, is effective in decontaminating surfaces within a 1-minute contact time. When diluted 10-fold, HOCl solutions are still effective in decontaminating environmental surfaces carrying viruses in a 10-minute contact time.(4)

In liquid form, HOCl smells slightly like swimming pool water and reminds of HCl. This smell helps to distinguish between hypochlorous and water.
