Tencent Holdings Ltd, China's largest social media and gaming company according to yearly revenue, exceeded predictions to announce its greatest-ever quarterly profits, fueled by greater revenue from smartphone games, payments and online ads.
Looking to the future, Tencent as stated that it hopes to grow investment and capital in payment and cloud offerings and AI.

“Although the company is late to come to the party of Artificial Intelligence, it is certainly making promising progress,” Robert Stutgart at China based BHB Equity

Tencent Holdings President Martin Lau stated that the firm would persist with patience in the venture into Artificial Intelligence as the company is of the opinion that it is a long term scheme that does not necessitate immediate profits.
Tencent Holdings’ Lau added that all of Tencent's active interests would acquire a distinct advantage from its Artificial Intelligence interests and research, stating that specifically its performance ad company and information based offerings.

The most highly valued company in the Asian region which is currently enjoying a wave of profitability fuelled by the success of its games which feature on social networks, exceeded analysts’ predictions for profits to post a revenue of approximately 18.23 billion yuan in the second quarter of 2017 which is a figure that is up by an astounding 70 percent from a year previously. This increase constitutes the largest in more than seven consecutive years.
Tencent's profits, which have been reaching greater heights each and every quarter for the past decade, boosted almost 60 percent to almost 60 billion yuan.
