Printing newspapers are losing readers daily, many are looking for other ways for staying up-to-date with the latest information. Newspaper sales hit their highest in the year 1970, when 60 million papers were distributed across the nation every single daily. With the number of people of the U.S. on the rise newspaper sales aren't increasing at a rapid pace. According to estimates, around 55 million papers are printed each day.

In the 1920's, the number of newspaper per household purchased peaked at 1.3. The 1970's saw that number began to fall to less than one newspaper per household. In 2000, it had dropped to.53 newspaper per household.

A reason for this is that we aren't reading as often as they did in the past. It seems like people are busier than ever, and they aren't taking the time to sit down and read more.

A lot of people are changing their news routines by watching the top three networks' news and cable news as an alternative to newspapers. With the variety of options available for news on television It seems like there's a news channel to suit every need.

Even though the majority of "older" adults still prefer newspapers, "young" adults have preferred to obtain their news on the web. Television news is still the top news outlet, however the web is fast becoming the preferred source for news, particularly through news sites, news blogs as well as online newspaper.

The popularity of online news grows daily. Every major paper is an online paper. Innovative journalists like Mike Drudge have been leading the way with independent news outlets. In addition, there are many websites that provide news.

A major reason why these blogs well-known is the fact that they can use them to serve as the basis for an RSS feed. The news feed can then be used to be incorporated into other blogs on the web, as well as allowing the feed to be read by more users. News blogs are also popular since they allow comments, which creates an interaction with the news story which can be a wonderful experience to feel that you're part of the narrative.

Even though newspapers might be declining, that doesn't mean that readers have stopped consuming news but only from where they get their news. It is therefore possible that those who don't get your news via the web it is possible that you will become a majority.
