New Greek restaurant in Carle Place, Long Island. New York

A new Greek restaurant opens its doors and its exquisite cuisine to patrons in Carle Place, and Long Island in NY

The folks at Plori Restaurant are proud to announce their new restaurant, which takes its name from the Greek word for ‘prow’. General manager DIno Philippou said, "In a Greek fishing village, people are waiting for the return to the fishing boats." They know when they see the plori on the front of the boat that the daily catch is coming. We'd love to take you to this little Greek village.

The two-level restaurant space has nautical details throughout, including a lamp made of vintage brass chronometers, and a room divider made using maritime ropes, pulleys, to reinforce the theme.

Philippou ran Astoria's famous Greek restaurant-nightclub Cavo, which was open for almost twenty years. At Plori, he is joined by Tony Bouara, a sommelier, and Pete Dalitsouris. Buffy and Spiro Dimas, who also own the Old Westbury Diner in Williston Park and the Williston Townhouse Diner at Williston Park, are the restaurant's owners.
