Cannabliss, the Florida-based wholesale distributor of medical and legal recreational marijuana products says the latest report detailing the scale of legal marijuana sales in the United States will lend weight to the commercial argument for further liberalization in more states.

Alluding to a summary of a report from marijuana analysis firm ArcView and investment house, New Frontier, Brad Flint, media spokesperson for Cannabliss said the clear surge in sales made a strong case for the introduction legislation that would decriminalize marijuana use in several key US states.

“Clearly, legal marijuana has become something of a gold rush with more on Wall Street taking a keener interest in the potential of a market that’s conservatively forecast to be worth in excess of US$20 billion by 2020,” explained Flint.

According to the report, non-medicinal use accounted for just under US$1 billion in 2015, up from US$351 million in 2014 with medical usage accounted for the remainder. Demand is expected to remain robust in 2016 with preliminary estimates of sales worth US$6.7 billion by year end.

Cannabliss plans to open a small chain of retail outlets offering marijuana-infused edibles to qualifying patients with physician’s prescriptions in the state of Florida following the expected passing of legislation following a ballot on November 8th, 2016.
