Repair the sleeve roller chain after stretched

Sleeve roller chain on motorcycle will incur stretch after driving for a period of time, which will lead to abnormal noise. Usually you will mostly increase spring hardness and strength when repairing it. Actually, this chain can be restored. After a period of use and wear, the joint of chain will become loose and wider, you can continue to use it as long as it can be repaired to the normal condition.

The specific methods is as follows:

Remove the chain and place it on a flat platform, fold the chain and repeatedly knock every link and pin with hammer, make sure to do this gently, in order to avoid dead knot and affecting the quality of repair. After a period of time, the length of each pin and link of the chain changes, which shorten the chain length and return to normal, you can continue to use.

For those serious woren chain or chain with longer use period, except for the methods above, you should also break the chain and sprocket, wind back on itself, which will make this chain better to use. For the seriously woren chain which can not be repaired, you have to abandon it.

Abnormal noise from the crankshaft

There is a dull and heavy abnormal noise at the joint between cylinder and crankcase. And the noise will be greater when the engine is loading more. If the noise is sured caused by error of axial clearances, then you can remove the crankcase and use the special tools to take out the 304 bearing on the right cankcase, and use the seal gasket from right cover of cyclinder to make a suitable paper with thickness about 40mm and then put it in the right crank handle, then mount 304 bearing andl compress it tightly, then the axial clearances will be changed. Make sure not to put anything inside the Interior bearings, which will damage the crankcase and reduce the service lift.

Bulging oil pump cover

There may be a sudden shortage of oil when motorcycle is in normal driving. Then you may find that the oil pump cover is bulged, which will cause leakage of oil pump. It can be repaired and restored but will happen again after a period of usage, you need to repeated repair it. That is because of comprehensive factors which cause oversize, or loose joint between the oil pump sprocket shaft and pump shaft, cause contradiction and the contradition force affect the oil pump cover, for a long time of contradiction will cause the bulging of the cover and leakage, which will finally cause the shortage of oil supply.

You can put the O-shaped oil-resistant sealing ring on the pump shaft which is under the pump cover. Then, make the pump cover flat. That will change the size of pump size and eliminate the loose connection between the oil pump sprocket shaft and pump shaft. There will be no contradiction and oil pump cover will not dulge, failure is completely ruled out.
