First, press the moisture probe and place its end point near the plant about two-thirds from the bottom of the pot. This will be the first thing you will do to determine the state of the soil.

Second, the soil moisture meter will automatically read the soil state either the soil is dry, moist, or wet. By this, you can easily identify if your plant needs some water. With the results of your test, you can decide on how will you respond to it. You will then know exactly the number of times for you to water the plant in a week to keep it healthy and alive.

Third, after the test, make sure that the soil moisture meter will be rinsed thoroughly so you can still use it again.
