Whathouse.co.uk is the specialist new homes portal, which works with the top house builders in the UK and showcases the new developments on their website. Earlier last year, Whathouse launched their digital magazine and now, in December 2013, they announced they were bringing out a monthly regional property newspaper.

Whathouse is the one stop site for people looking to buy a new-build home. They offer homebuyers everything they need in their search, including listings of hundreds of new build houses for sale, homes available on schemes to help first time buyers such as shared equity and Home Buyers scheme. Plus there is a specialist section for retirement property, a news page constantly updated with the latest UK property news and expert advice on moving home, mortgages and interior design tips.

Now in December they launched the first two editions of the new WhatHouse? regional property newspaper. The tabloid size papers were distributed by Royal Mail straight to the mail boxes of around 100,000 homes. There were two editions, the South East regional version and the Southern Edition. The newspaper for the South East edition covered Kent, West Sussex and East Sussex and the London boroughs of Bromley and Bexley. The edition covering the South was delivered to addresses in Surrey, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and parts of Croydon, Richmond and Kingston in London.

Each was twenty pages long and covered topics such as the latest WhatHouse Awards as well as articles on the Help to Buy scheme and shared ownership options, together with case studies for ease of understanding, a look at mortgages with worked examples and an overseas focus. These topics are the same in each regional newspaper but then there are interviews with local agents for the particular area, a focus on the new developments in that region and details of specific new build properties for sale in the region.

There is a mix of general property related articles and then there is targeted news ad features and advertising for that specific region.

In January WhatHouse? will launch two more regional versions of the newspaper to cover the Eastern part of South England and a West Midlands version. The Eastern edition will cover Essex, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk and the West Midlands one will cover Staffordshire, the West Midlands area and Warwickshire. Each will be going out to around 150,000 homes via Royal Mail.

But if you do not live in either of these areas or don't want to wait for the paper version to be delivered, you can visit the WhatHouse website and view the digital versions.

The paper based newspapers are a return to their original roots for WhatHouse? which started off as a monthly magazine and was successfully in print for many years before going online in 2006. In producing regional newspapers they are returning to their heritage.

WhatHouse.co.uk will also expand their website at the start of 2014 and will cover all aspects of house-hunting, buying, selling and home ownership. The regional newspapers will be aimed at owners and buyers alike as well as those buying and selling new build houses and resale properties, cover renting and be of use to tenants and landlords also.
