Pakistan’s First Match Victory over South Africa in the Ongoing Tour

Pakistan tour of South Africa started on December 19 with a three-day practice match between South African Invitation XI and Pakistan at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. The match was won by Pakistan by six wickets.

Then the three-match test series between Pakistan cricket team and South Africa cricket team started on December 26 with its first test at SuperSport Park in Centurion which South Africa won by 6 wickets.

The second test took place on January 3 at Newlands in Cape Town, again the match was won by South Africa by 9 wickets. The third and final test match was held on January 11 at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg which was won by South Africa by 107 runs.

With the final test, South Africa clinched the test series 3-0 defeating Pakistan in every test match. After the test series, the tour is scheduled for the five One Day International followed by the three Twenty20 International.

The first One Day International of the five-match ODI series which was scheduled on January 19 at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth is won by Pakistan National Cricket Team by 5 wickets.

South Africa National Cricket Team won the toss and opt to bat first. They put together 266 runs in 50 overs. Hashim Amla remained not out and hit a century by scoring 108 runs off 120 balls. Rassie van der Dussen was also about to complete his century but was out at 93 off 101 balls.

Pakistan was able to take only two wickets of South Africa that was Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks. Pakistan chase of 267 runs was a hard work that the team put on. None of the Pakistan players hit a century but Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shadab Khan managed to chase the target in 49.1 overs.
