Indian National Cricket Team openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan became the fourth opening pair in the world to go past 4000 runs partnership in one-day internationals.

 
Indian National Cricket Team openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan became the fourth opening pair in the world to go past 4000 runs partnership in one-day internationals. The duo has been helping Team India to grow and became the top ODI teams in the cricketing world.

In the second One Day International at Adelaide against Australia National Cricket Team, the duo opened the match for Indian National Cricket Team and played well to chase the target of 299 runs.

They together put 47 runs for Team India and became the second Indian pair to reach the milestone after Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Sachin and Sourav occupy the top spot in the list among ODI openers with 6609 runs from 136 innings.

The second place is owned by Australia’s Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden who put together 5372 runs in 114 innings. The third spot is occupied by Windies Cricket Team opening pair Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes who put together 5150 runs in 102 innings.

Now the fourth spot is occupied by Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan who put together 4040 runs in 90 innings. During the match, Rohit Sharma scored 43 off 52 and Shikhar Dhawan scored 32 off 28. Captain Virat Kohli hit a century and scored 104 off 112. Ambati Rayudu who came to bat at fourth made 24 runs off 36 balls.

Former Indian Team Captain MS Dhoni remained not out and made 55 runs off 54 balls while Dinesh Karthik also remained not out at 25 runs off 14 balls. Among the bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav bowled 10 overs each.

Bhuvneshwar took 4 wickets and Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets. Jadeja also took 1 wicket. The team efforts made India level the ODI series 1-1. Team India won by 6 wickets.
