Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a psychiatric or mental disorder characterised by unstable behaviour, moods swings, and difficulty with relationships. Most people suffering from BPD usually have trouble in interpersonal connections, an unstable sense of self, significant affective disturbance, plus increased impulsivity, which could lead to a high prevalence of suicide or self-harm. BPD patients are also usually reluctant to treatment and as a result, are at high risk for acute or hazardous presentations, putting a strain on mental health resources.

Medication and various types of psychotherapy are widely used in combination to treat BPD, c-PTSD, and PTSD, as most research indicates that these combined treatment tactics produce superior results,” he added.
