Human personality is complicated; nevertheless, one can read it observing the surrounding of a person. Clothes is one of aspects to determine individual characteristics so that for specialists in the field of style it is enough to throw a glance at the person to see who is in front of him. “Clothes makes people” is a fair statement when it comes to the relationship of personality and clothing. Like manners, gestures, facial expressions, wardrobe narrates about its owner. Therefore, my inspiration for the creation of a film about clothes was to make people talk about self-identification through stories that are hidden behind pieces of their clothes.
People while choosing clothes are guided primarily by perceiving themselves from the side calculating their image, seeking to achieve a one-hundred percent coincidence with the ideal look for them. Artificial creation using clothes from a foreign image will lead to an increase in internal tension, and a person will feel as another person not being able to express and behave himself or herself freely. Often, people buy clothes in a specific mood or for some occasion, but such a purchase, as a rule, hangs in the closet and remains not in demand as far as an internal connection to a piece is lacking. In one or another sense of consciousness, and more often intuitively, people wear what suits to their character, temperament, taste, reflects, and mood, corresponds to our notions of aesthetics, rules of good tone, and social status. Therefore, the process of choosing clothes has a strong linkage to a collective understanding of own personality. And material opportunities, at the same time, play a minor role, because the conversation is about the compatibility of our character and style of clothing, and not its price.
As a result, others may classify a person due to him or her clothes to a specific social category. For example, classics or some of its elements state that a person is focused on a business approach to life, is self-confident, able to concentrate on important issues and appreciates his or her time (R. He or she does not have to strive to stand out from the crowd, he or she has other goals and serious tasks. Such person lacks problems with self-esteem while the style is more in harmony with the internal rather than conditions that oblige to look professionally. Typically, people who choose the classical style, stick to patriarchal views, established traditions, are somewhat conservative, their word can be trusted, they are constant, not inclined to change the decision. In communication, they rarely admit their weaknesses, do not get involved in quarrels, remain polite and correct. I knew some of these notions because the beginning of the film creation; however, the communication with my characters helped me to learn such information and how it suits their personality.
Besides, before the start of the assignment, I wanted to analyze people using their clothes to learn more about myself gathering information about others. Therefore, I did not limit myself to individuals who wear business style but tried to offer a variety of different styles so that others could also acquire such knowledge. For example, I wanted to build parallels to deepen the experience. The style that I find opposite to classics is sport. It is very popular now, especially in the youth environment. For active, mobile, loose people, it is comfortable, practical, gives freedom of movement, does not require daily presence of iron on the table. As a rule, people who give preference to a sport style do not suffer from a lack of communication, they are sociable and benevolent. But a person who tends to a sport style in clothing can also be an athlete and in essence. He or she may have in the blood of the spirit of rivalry, the desire for excellence, the inner mood for the struggle for high results. Him or her does not suit participation, a person needs only victory, possibly at any price. A person perceives failures as a personal defeat, and looks for opponents in all spheres of life. That is why a person is always ready for competition in all spheres seeing them as an instrument for personal development.
If to consider these two styles, they are not completely opposite to each other as far as individuals who choose them share many similar qualities. Therefore, one cannot analyze society with clichés but emphasize individual preferences and their interconnection with other elements. For instance, when a person wears some style because of an obligation, its effect on a personality is different from a personal choice. That is why the film concentrated on people instead of social classes to describe the philosophy that directed the formation of personal style.
TO conclude, the motivation for a movie about closet was the transformation of elements of clothes into instruments for the understanding of human psychology. Unique stories should help others to understand which factors influence their clothes preferences and how pieces correspond to personality. In addition, a film should incline people to open their wardrobe and learn more about themselves because they buy clothes mostly intuitively. As a result, I try to offer a new approach for self-analysis that is applicable to every person and offers much information. That is why the intention to create my movie was to help people learn about themselves and find which style can help them to feel internal freedom.
