Learning on the Canada Express Entry Draw

Posted October 14, 2019 by elaarimmigration

Express Entry is a system used by Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada for the purpose of selecting immigration candidates to Canada.

The 14th October 2019 Canada express entry draw for immigration resulted in about 3,900 candidates being allotted an ITA (Invitation to Apply). The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score required was 464. In the previous Canada express entry draw, which occurred on 18th September 2019, 462 points was the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score cut-off threshold.

It is important to understand that the 2nd October draw was affected by the tie-breaking rule. This means that not all the candidates who met the score cut-off threshold points will be given an Invitation to Apply. It is also equally important to note that if more than one candidate the lowest CRS score, then the cut-off factors in the date and time that the Express entry profiles were submitted. Subsequently, below are various factors that may affect the Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off score.

• The number of invited candidates
• The frequency of Canada express entry draws
• The number of new candidates entering the Express Entry pool
• Changes in the existing candidates’ CRS scores. The scores may either increase or decrease depending on their particular circumstances. An existing candidate in the pool can take proactive measures necessary for improving their CRS score.

Express Entry for Immigrants

Express Entry is a system used by Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada for the purpose of selecting immigration candidates to Canada. This particular system relies on the use of various economic immigration programs including Federal Skilled Worker and Canadian Experience Class.

The ambitious plan of the government of Canada is to increase the number of candidates accepted through the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class. Over the next three years, that number is set to increase to about 256,000 while about 200,000 new permanent residents are to benefit from the PNPs (Provincial Nominees Program) before 2021 ends.

Additionally, the implemented Express Entry changes have resulted in the increasing number of those who studied in the country being invited for application for permanent immigration to the country. With those changes, it has resulted in the CRS score of graduates and international students in Canada being boosted.
It is expected more invitations will be issued in the coming weeks, months, and years to benefit individuals and families from different parts of the world wishing to relocate to Canada permanently.
