The Ohio-based newspaper aims to encourage and facilitate Somali entrepreneurs to start their own businesses.

Columbus, Ohio – 9 June, 2022: From a prolonged civil war to food insecurity, Somalis have faced a wide range of problems in their country. These problems have made them more adept and creative at problem-solving. For this reason, Somalis are known to be entrepreneurial people.
Currently, over 750,000 Somali refugees are dispersed across the world. Of this Somali diaspora, nearly 75,000 people reside in Central Ohio. Somali Community Link was formed to facilitate, resettle, and rehabilitate these people.
This newspaper sheds light on the various issues faced by the Somali community living in Ohio and helps to integrate them into the American society. One important way in which the newspaper achieves this is by supporting the entrepreneurial ventures of the community.
It’s a non-profit organization that works towards bringing in volunteers and donations to solve the problems faced by the Somali community. These donations are used to fund the housing needs, education, and business ideas of the individuals of this community.
The business ventures provide Somali households with stable income while making them active and contributing members of society. These business ideas range from small to medium scale and aim to improve the quality of life of Somalis and the general public in Ohio.
A spokesperson at Somali Community Link stated, “Somali people have immense potential, energy, skills, and abilities. With some support, they can achieve profitability and contribute significantly to society. We aim to equip them with all the financial support they need. We do this by bringing their ventures to light and driving donations towards their causes. Over time, these entrepreneurs have proved their worthiness and have strengthened the Somali community even further.”
Many Somali business owners now have flourishing businesses in Ohio, and they continue to help other Somalis in need. This has proved to be an important step in strengthening the community.
In addition to getting donations for Somali entrepreneurs, Somali Community Link has also been monumental in the rehabilitation of Somali refugees. As the second generation of American-born Somalis comes forward, it’s evident that they have much better circumstances than the generation before them.
