Stacey, 31 got the idea for her business Your Very Own Story, when she started making up songs & stories that included her daughter’s name, in an attempt to get her little girl Eleni, now 11 months to stop her crying.

She began designing and writing her beautiful books – The Wizard Who Could No Longer Fly and The Fairy Who Could No Longer Fly – when her daughter was 4 months old and within a few months had launched her website, www.yourveryownstory.com selling personalisedstories. Since then, Stacey has developed a range of baby blankets and has plans for many more products in the near future.

She has now decided to donate £1 from every sale on her website throughout November to the Wakefield-based Families & Babies (FAB) charity, which was a huge support to her when Eleni was born.

Stacey said: “I wanted to give something back to FAB to say thank you for all of their support and knew that donating money would make a difference.”

Stacey moved to Wrenthorpe in August 2013 when her husband Mat got the job as caretaker at the local primary school. The baby groups at FAB were a great place to meet new parents as she didn’t know anyone in the area and was grateful of the opportunity to make new friends.

She said: “I always wanted to be a stay-at-home mum and when my husband got this job it came with a house so it was a great opportunity for me to give up my job as a French & Spanish teacher.

“FAB was also a massive support to me throughout my early breastfeeding journey as the first couple of weeks were very difficult for me. I once called their 24 hours helpline at 3am in the morning and by 9am the following morning I had 2 Little Angels – breastfeeding support workers – on my doorstep.

“I’ve always been creative and had always dreamt of having my own business one day. I feel so lucky to be doing something that I love but that also allows me to spend time with my family.
