FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Traditional American folk is getting a fresh, exciting treatment by local Southern Californian artist, Shawn Howard. Plucking a variety of folk and country songs influenced by the music of the 60s and 70s, this Hesperia native is making waves with his latest collection, American Folk Tradition & Train To Texarkana.
A self-taught musician since the age of 9, Howard took the first steps in his lengthy career by picking up the piano and accordion before moving on to the guitar. While he’s remained a veteran of the local music scene since the 90s with other projects such as The Beat Tales Guy, 2013’s American Folk Tradition & Train To Texarkana sees the singer-songwriter delving even deeper into the timeless pool of Americana, folk and country.
Howard continues to gig around the Southern California area, hitting local hot spots throughout San Diego county in support of American Folk Tradition & Train To Texarkana. College and public radio stations are also beginning to spin a few cuts from the albums, with tracks also receiving airplay via Jango Radio around the world in countries such as Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand and more.
American Folk Tradition & Train To Texarkana are available for purchase through digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby now, as well as singles such as “Cowboy Diplomacy,“ “Wicked City Woman,” “Need Somebody to Love,” “Wild Horses in Missouri” and more. Check out streaming audio on his official website and Jango page, as well as future performance dates and new music news.
