With over 15 years of hospitality leadership experience and a deep appreciation for the unique charm of historic properties, Andrew brings a fresh and informed perspective to one of Tampa’s landmarks.
Originally from California, Andrew is a graduate of Florida State University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree. Before entering the hospitality industry, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for six years. His professional journey in hotel management began in 2009, and he has since held leadership positions with Marriott, Hyatt, and Hilton, as well as an independent operation earlier in his career. Most recently, Andrew served as the General Manager of Le Méridien Tampa, where he led operations for another historic hotel conversion.
“Hotel Flor is an amazing historic hotel. It is newly renovated with beautiful decor from the restaurant, cafe, ballrooms, lobby and guestrooms. Historic pieces throughout the hotel keep the rich and exciting history alive and shared with all guests that visit us” says Spicknall.
Under Andrew’s leadership, immediate priorities include elevating the guest experience, strengthening community partnerships, and bringing unique ideas to enhance The Dan, Hotel Flor’s speakeasy-inspired restaurant. He also plans to introduce tailored amenities that reflect the hotel’s storied past, reinforcing its position as a destination for both locals and travelers seeking an authentic Tampa experience.
