Arnold Schwarzenegger would be seen featuring in the new ad campaign intended to alert customers about the deadline and to make a PPI claim for compensation.
In the advert launched on 29th August, an animatronic model of Arnold’s head was seen pushing individuals to make a quick decision in relation to making a PPI claim before the deadline (29 August 2019).
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) launched the deadline so as to prompt individuals to determine to check if they were mis-sold PPI and if they wish to make a claim. The ad campaign has been launched by the FCA with the hope of bringing the biggest mis-selling scandal to an end. The campaign would appear online, on TV as well as on outdoor advertising all across UK successively for 2 years.
As per a Spokesperson, “The ad campaign has been launched with an aim to slice through the noise created by PPI mis-selling. It is to encourage customers to decide whether they want to check if they’ve had PPI and if they want to make a complaint or not. The message to be passed on through this campaign is “Do it now” and urge customers to make a decision as soon as possible.”
He further added, “Eighteen firms including building societies, credit card lenders and banks-which had the highest number of PPI complaints-are paying for this campaign. They have even accepted to several steps to make sure the entire process is trouble-free for consumers.”
