INVITED CLUBS SACRIFICES TENNIS COMMUNITY FOR SHORT-TERM CORPORATE PROFITS AT FAIR OAKS RANCH GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB

Invited Clubs, the largest owner and operator of private clubs, choses short-term profits over member experience, un-inviting tennis members and pushing out those who voice their desire for a better experience.

Fair Oaks Ranch, TX – The tennis community at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club is reeling after a corporate decision by Invited Clubs, the largest owner and operator of private clubs, to reduce the number of tennis courts despite increasing demand and a growing player base. This move comes at a time when members are already struggling with court availability, making the decision even more baffling and frustrating.

Members of the club rallied together in an effort to work collaboratively with Invited Clubs’ corporate office, only to be dismissed outright. The company made it clear that the decision was final, and that member input was neither welcome nor considered.

One of the strongest voices in advocating for the tennis community was Travis Wagner, a respected pillar of the Fair Oaks Ranch community and a tireless ambassador for racquet sports in the area. Wagner courageously voiced the concerns of club members at a corporate-hosted town hall meeting—an event designed to justify corporate decisions rather than listen to the voices of dedicated members. Instead of engaging in meaningful dialogue, the corporate representatives made it clear that tennis was not a priority for them.

In a shocking and punitive response, Travis Wagner’s membership was revoked effective immediately—a clear attempt to silence any dissent and deter other members from expressing their concerns.

“This is not just about losing courts—it’s about losing a community,” said a longtime club member. “We’ve seen firsthand how corporate greed can destroy something special. This decision goes against everything that makes Fair Oaks Ranch a welcoming and vibrant home for tennis enthusiasts.”

The decision by Invited Clubs marks a dark day for the San Antonio tennis community, as tennis at Fair Oaks Ranch has effectively been un-invited in favor of short-term corporate gains. The club’s leadership has sent a chilling message: member voices do not matter, and those who dare to speak out will face consequences.

The tennis community is calling on Invited Clubs to reconsider their decision, reinstate Travis Wagner’s membership, and engage in genuine dialogue with members who have invested their time, passion, and money into making Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country a thriving club for all sports.
