These insulators have an airtight surface skin and are closed cell.
To conventional uses in buildings, plasterboards with more extruded polystyrenes are particularly suitable for applications which require very high mechanical resistance to loads or for applications which require long-term water behavior (industrial pavements, walkable terraces, green terraces, inverted roofs, etc.).This insulation is sold in the form of panels. For Polystyrene cut sheets this is important.
Polyurethane: characteristics of PUR
The manufacture of polyurethane insulation is carried out using foaming of a polyol compound, methylene diisocyanate, swelling agent and additives, between two aluminum facings of 50 microns which ensure the airtightness of the insulation and the durability of its thermal performance over time. This closed cell insulator contains a gas with low thermal conductivity (better than still air whose lambda is at 0.025 W / (mK). Polyurethane insulators have a thermal conductivity which varies from 0.021 W / (mK) to 0.028 W / (mK) depending on the production technique and the types of siding used.
In addition to conventional building uses, polyurethanes are particularly suitable for applications which require very high mechanical resistance to loads or for applications which require long-term water behavior (industrial pavements, walkable terraces, green terraces, roofs reversed).
Polystyrene insulation: namely
Like all construction products, insulation, whatever their family and nature, must be the subject of Environmental and Health Declaration Sheets (FDE & S) conforming to standard NF P 01-010. These sheets can be consulted on the public database www.inies.fr as well as on industrial websites. They are based on product life cycle analyzes.
About the Company: Foam Technologies are one of Australia’s leading polystyrene suppliers, servicing the building and construction sector.
