Staff at the Anaheim White House Italian Steakhouse are finalizing plans for the restaurant’s 31th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting to be held Sunday, Nov 24 from 6 - 10 p.m. Before enjoying a sit-down, four-course dinner, guests will sip Champagne, dine on hors d’oeuvres and watch as thousands of lights set aglow a massive Christmas tree that will sit on the snow covered, festively decorated grounds. In addition to special guests including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus himself, several honorees will be recognized by Caterina’s Club for their exceptional support: Dan and Florentina McClory, Walt and Leanne Luchinger, Dennis and Rhonda Bustam and Diana Sterling. Cost is $135 per person and tables for 10 are also available.
Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to the underprivileged children served by Caterina's Club, the internationally recognized nonprofit that feeds disadvantaged children and finds permanent housing for families in need.
“Our annual tree lighting is one of our most eagerly anticipated events of the year and officially kicks off the Christmas season,” said Sir Bruno Serato, chef/owner of the Anaheim White House Italian Steakhouse and founder of the nonprofit named after his beloved mother, Caterina’s Club. “We have always enjoyed a sold-out event and with this being our 31th anniversary, I have no doubt that the tradition will continue.”
Caterina’s Club serves 5,000 pasta dinners each night in 89 locations in Orange and LA counties with more than 3 million meals served. Serato's influence has extended far beyond the local area to include Caterina's Club chapters in Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy. His nonprofit also helps families escape living in drug and crime infested motels and into safer, cleaner and more permanent housing and his Hospitality Program seeks to divert at-risk high school students by introducing them to opportunities in the food, hospitality and service industries.
For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, on CBS, NBC and CNN as well as newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors: CNN Hero, knighted by the Italian government, knighted by the House of Savoy, Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Papal blessing by Pope Francis, humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – our children.
