Gulf University Discusses Master's Theses on AI & Digital Media – Badran Highlights Research on AI & Gov Communication via IG

Gulf University held master’s thesis discussions on AI in media and digital communication. Nasser Al-Tamer and Nora Al-Benkhaleel presented research on AI content and Instagram’s role in promoting Bahrain.

 
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the College of Communication and Media Technology at Gulf University held discussions for two master's thesis, attended by a distinguished group of academics and specialists.
The first thesis was titled "Trends of Media Professionals in the Kingdom of Bahrain Towards Using Artificial Intelligence Content Production Technologies," presented by student Nasser Al-Tamer, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Al-Astal and Dr. Mohamed Refaat. The discussion included contributions from Professor Dr. Mohamed Badr (External Examiner – Macromedia University) and Dr. Sherif Badran (Internal Examiner).
The second thesis was titled "Employing Digital Government Communication Strategies via Instagram for the International Promotion of the Kingdom of Bahrain," presented by student Nora Al-Benkhaleel, under the supervision of Dr. Naglaa Al-Jamal. The discussion featured Dr. Tareq Al-Hassan (External Examiner – Abu Dhabi University) and Dr. Abdullah Al-Taher (Internal Examiner).
The discussions took place in the university’s Moot Court, with an exceptional academic audience, along with the option to follow the event via Zoom, which provided a broader opportunity for participation and engagement with the latest research in the field of digital media.
President of Gulf University, Professor Mohanad Al-Firas emphasized that these academic discussions reflect the university's commitment to offering high-quality academic programs that contribute to advancing scientific research and knowledge in media and digital technologies. He added, "We are proud of the research level presented by our postgraduate students, which aligns with the rapid developments in the media field, especially with the digital revolution and the impact of artificial intelligence on content production."
Al-Firas also stressed the importance of supporting scientific research at Gulf University, noting that these studies provide practical solutions that can be applied in the media sector, enhancing the university's role in serving both the academic and professional communities.
For his part, Dean of the College of Communication and Media Technology Dr. Sherif Badran, highlighted the high academic quality of the presented research, stressing that the thesis reflects the latest trends in digital media and government communication. He stated:
"Digital media today is a fundamental pillar in content production and institutional communication, and our students' studies contribute to exploring new ways to enhance government media strategies and leverage artificial intelligence in media content production."
Badran added that the college continuously strives to develop its curricula and research programs to align with the latest trends in the media field, ensuring the graduation of qualified professionals who keep informed about developments in the local and global media sector.
