Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated North India's largest floating solar power plant in Himachal Pradesh, a milestone in India's renewable energy journey.

Mohali, India - March 7, 2024 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi today marked a historic moment by laying the foundation stone for North India's largest floating solar power plant, a project executed by Hartek Solar, Power, and Renewable Infrastructure, a unit of Hartek Group. This significant endeavor underscores India's dedication to combatting climate change through innovative energy solutions.

The 15MW/22MWp floating solar power plant, situated at Nangal Pond, Himachal Pradesh, stands as a testament to India's commitment to renewable energy. Once operational, it will supply clean energy to a substantial portion of North India, aligning with the nation's renewable energy targets and significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Valued at 90 Cr, this groundbreaking project is India's first downstream solar installation on the Bhakra-Nangal Dam, poised to save approximately 657,795 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually while generating over 33 million units of power output. Hartek Solar's leadership in solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) ensures the project's seamless execution within the stipulated timeframe, adhering to the highest quality and safety standards.

Mr. Simarpreet Singh, the Group Executive Director of Hartek Group, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the floating solar power plant, marking a significant milestone in India's renewable energy journey. He also thanked SJVN Green for their trust in HARTEK’s execution capabilities. Singh highlighted the project's significance in harnessing solar energy potential in water bodies, optimizing land utilization, and contributing towards the government's vision of generating over 500 GW of energy by 2030 from non-fossil sources.

The Bhakra-Nangal Reservoir floating solar power plant exemplifies the fusion of technology, innovation, and sustainability, setting a precedent for future solar projects in India. Hartek Solar remains steadfast in advancing renewable energy solutions, driving India towards energy security and environmental sustainability.
