We successfully completed over 300 surgeries. This year Chairman Kunal Chowdhari has committed that he would continue the good work and ensure to complete minimum 100 surgeries in the current year.

As planned and promised, Chairman Kunal Chowdhari and his conveners tied up Kauvery Hospital to do the surgeries during 2021.

Commenting on this, Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Kauvery Hospital, Chennai & Dr. T. Senthil Kumar Executive Director
Chief Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon Kauvery Heart City

“The burden related to heart diseases in India is enormous and the treatment of children suffering from heart ailments requires special equipment and expertise, which comes with a heavy price tag. Lack of awareness, funds and hospital facilities are the reasons for majority of such children not surviving. With this initiative, we make sure socio-economic status is never a barrier when it comes to accessing quality healthcare. we have helped 100's of underprivileged children who so far were suffering from several heart diseases and our mission is to serve more in future by completely eliminating the lack of paediatric cardiac care accessibility to poor children with the support of

Round Table India and Ladies Circle India.”

The initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of cardio healthcare for children belonging to the weaker section of the society. This programme is structured in such a way that it helps the children avail the treatment for all heart defects. Patients from other hospitals and states are also being benefited from this initiative by Madras Anchorage Round Table 100.

When we started this initiative, we never thought we could help many such children within this small period. Kauvery hospital and our generous donors for the cause has made this possible through their various screening camps and providing the necessary support through their expert doctors and high-end medical care. We will continue to offer our support and help as many children as possible.”

ABOUT KAUVERY HOSPITAL:

Kauvery Hospital grew out of the vision of doctors who chased their dream to provide quality healthcare at affordable costs but with a personal touch, especially to the mid segment of population in cities like Trichy that lacked tertiary care. The hospital commenced its modest operations as a 30-bed trauma care centre in Trichy in 1999. Today, it is a multi-specialty hospital chain with 1500+ beds in five cities including Trichy, Chennai, Salem, Hosur and Bengaluru, where seven hospitals with a workforce of more than6000 provide exemplary secondary and tertiary care. Since inception, Kauvery Hospital has been on a perpetual quest to keep up with the ever-changing requirements of healthcare, possibly, always a step ahead.

Heart city is a dedicated 100 bed exclusive cardiac care hospital in Trichy (Tier 2 city) which caters to over 10 lakhs population, primarily agriculture based, where most of them are below poverty line. We have done more than 250 Pediatric cardiac procedures so far. We do lot of high end lifesaving cardiac procedures, to many of these deserving population under CM scheme or with heavy discounts. We do a lot of paediatric cardiac surgeries also, where these kids return to normalcy. In many cases the disease is fully curable, when these children are picked up in right age and operated.
As you know very well, in India, diabetes prevalence is about 20% of the population. A large number of these patients develop coronary artery disease at young age. Identifying at correct time and when appropriate measures are taken, this will improve the survival and quality of life of these patients. This is like giving back the bread winner back to the family.

We also do lot of complex procedures like aortic aneurysm, complication of coronary artery disease etc... where the cost involved is very high. Many of these patients who are un-affordable lose their lives because of lack of funds.
