Dr. Heather Frederick releases The Happy Doc Student Handbook with the goal of reducing the massive waste of human potential inherent in current doctoral programs.

Since 50 percent of those who start a doctoral program don’t finish, it’s clear that students need additional resources. To fill this need, Dr. Heather Frederick launched The Happy Doc Student podcast. When the audience asked for a book that would distill the show’s essence, she wrote The Happy Doc Student Handbook: 7 Steps to Graduating with Your Sanity, Health, and Relationships Intact.

The handbook distills hundreds of years of collective wisdom into seven simple steps, allowing the reader to skillfully navigate the often-frustrating and overwhelming doctoral journey. The book includes over thirty action items, setting it apart from other graduate school guides. It doesn’t just provide information – it guides and inspires readers to apply it.

Designed to do more than just increase the doctoral program graduation rates, its magic lies in a unique combination of principles and powerful tools. Not only will students be more likely to graduate, but they will also do so with their sanity, health, and relationships intact so they can move on and make a positive impact on the world.

The Happy Doc Student Handbook is a must-read for current students and those who support them, as well as people considering a doctoral program.
