On January 17, John Gleeson, Director of Sales & Marketing, New York & Atlantic Railway (NY&A), will be the guest speaker at LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action). This event will take place at the Candlelight Diner, located at 56 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack, starting at 8:30 a.m. Mr. Gleeson will discuss the progress and efforts to increase freight transport and reduce heavy truck traffic.
Mr. Gleeson has been working on the customer side of the rail business for nearly 20 years. In the early part of his career, he managed a tank car fleet for Old World Industries, a chemical and automotive shipper based in Northbrook, Illinois. He then transitioned to become Supervisor of Transportation Services for GATX, a lessor of railcars based in Chicago, Illinois.
Most recently, he helped Arizona Beverages begin shipping by rail from their location in Edison, New Jersey.
Mr. Gleeson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in Chicago.
