The facility solidified its commitment to providing the resources patients need to make more informed choices when it comes to procedure costs.

Womack added that final prices may vary depending on additional tests and interventions or unforeseen complications. She stressed that the price estimation tool is not a substitute for actual quotes, but it enables patients to discuss their financial concerns with the facility’s staff before finalizing their treatment plans and payments. The hospital’s business office also provides patients with more detailed price estimates and answers their specific questions regarding insurance and other financial options.
In an effort to make procedures more affordable, Houston Physicians’ Hospital also offers multiple financing options to help patients fund their treatments. The financial counselors at the facility can assist patients in arranging and identifying financial assistance resources.
The procedure cost is second only to the procedure itself in causing stress for patients undergoing surgery. For this reason, in 2019, President Donald Trump signed an executive order mandating hospitals publish all procedures’ prices and fees.
