From whimsical to thought-provoking, Collage to the Rescue offers a rich variety of interpretations, making it a must-have for dog lovers and art enthusiasts alike.
In a true spirit of giving, Collage to the Rescue is more than just a book. It's also a philanthropic initiative. Fifty percent of the book’s profits will be donated to various non-profit rescue organizations, with 25% going directly to the contributing artists and the remaining 25% to Wendy Tigerman, the creator of this incredible project. This collaboration between artists, animal advocates, and readers aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of rescue dogs while showcasing extraordinary artistic talent.
“I wanted this book to not only celebrate dogs but to make a difference in their lives,” said Wendy Tigerman. “By partnering with non-profits and sharing the profits, we’re able to support the vital work being done by these organizations and highlight the creative brilliance of our artists.”
The cover art for Collage to the Rescue was created by Deborah Kleven Morbetto, an artist who left her day job in 2002 to pursue a full-time career in the arts. Known for her innovative use of wax, collage, and digital media, Morbetto’s work draws from the Surrealist and Dada movements, offering a playful exploration of how we present ourselves to the world. Her cover for this book was meticulously crafted on an iPad using royalty-free images, merging traditional and digital mediums to stunning effect.
The title page features the work of Stacy Russo, a multifaceted artist, writer, librarian, and certified expressive arts facilitator. Known for her vibrant visual storytelling and deep connection to the DIY art scene, Stacy’s art offers an invitation to explore the themes of love, connection, and creativity. She brings her unique voice and artistic flair to Collage to the Rescue's introduction, setting the tone for the visual journey ahead.
