Challenges Faced During Vyncs Telematics Implementation

In the swiftly changing world of telematics, Vyncs runs on a form of technology that almost every fleet business owner is exposed to. However, implementing it comes with a few challenges. Fortunately, every lock comes with a key.

The landscape of telematics is shape-shifting. As it keeps changing from time to time, almost every fleet business owner is aware of technologies, such as Vyncs. The introduction of new aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer-installed products further hammers home the popularity and necessity of telematics.

While adopting Vyncs is easy, it comes with several challenges. Fortunately, every issue has a solution, just as every lock has a key. So, what is the first hurdle? There are factory-installed telematics and various specialized aftermarket providers. They allow fleet owners to implement the best deployment for their businesses. Now, each equipment line may have its own factory product, which creates the challenge of getting all those providers on the same active screen for quicker monitoring and management. Using an aggregation model will resolve this issue.

The Co-Founder of Vyncs, Dr. Hillol Kargupta has another suggestion. He says, “After aggregation, one of the biggest objectives is to get the telematics data from the car tracker device into an enterprise resource planning software program. In most cases, it requires a fee and maintenance, often with internal resources.”

Telematics data gathered and provided by Vyncs has proven benefits and in some instances, can support or refute a claim or warranty request. Different vendors have different policies regarding data access and who owns the data. This challenge appears as a joint venture or other situations where equipment may be shared between brands.

As mentioned earlier, many OEMs are offing factory telematics products, but many business owners have older or smaller equipment lacking a factory product. This situation creates an issue of managing only a portion of the fleet with telematics, leaving the rest uncovered, or adding a third-party product to cover the rest. Then again, it is better to have multiple screens to manage or face data aggregation challenges.

Vyncs is highly effective in what it does, even if it does seem a simplified version of full-fledged telematics solutions. It aims to re-imagine and rebuild the concept of mobility. Vyncs does everything from location tracking to driver safety monitoring, other than providing vehicle health reports, using powerful on-board and in-cloud distributed data management and analytics platforms to access vehicle sensor data and provide actionable business intelligence.
