8th December 2011 - The only thing you hear on the news these days is about the end of the world, about 2012. The reason we are heading for doom is because of the way the human population has been using natural resources callously, polluting our environment without any fear for the consequences the future might bring. The only way this damage can be reversed is by switching over to a safer, more permissible source of energy, like Home Made Energy.
This energy is of various types, derived from different sources. Solar energy is one of them. Energy from the sun can be harvested by using solar panels to carry out various energy needs. This involves using solar panels with photovoltaic cells to convert solar energy to electricity. Solar water heaters can be used to harness the Sun’s energy to heat water for daily usage. Solar energy can be absorbed during the day in cold regions to keep the surroundings warm during the night. Another utility is Solar distillation by which saline, brackish water is turned into potable water.
Another source of energy is biogas. Biogas is a gaseous fuel source attained by decomposition of various organic materials in the absence of oxygen. Organic material in this case refers to household waste, animal waste, dead plant and animal material, green waste and other material which is collectively called Biomass.
Biogas is beneficial because it helps reduce usage of electricity and compressed biogas can be used as CNG as a fuel for vehicles. It’s a much better source of energy as there is no pollution whatsoever. It is used in heating, space heating, cooking, etc.
During the age of pollution, which is ruining human health, surroundings and future, one of the best things one can do to try and save the planet is to tap alternate sources of energy that don’t harm the surroundings for the benefit of pleasure.
