Bytecoin Anniversary. What You Should Expect Next Year

Posted July 14, 2015 by Johndorian

Last Saturday Bytecoin cryptocurrency celebrated its 3rd anniversary, announcing new market-relevant features, like smart contracts and colored coins.

Bytecoin is expanding its platform. It already has a number of APIs that provide interfaces for the external applications, and we keep working on new APIs to provide all required functions for third-party developers. The upcoming releases include Block Explorer API that allows developers to gain direct access to various blockchain data.

The team is also improving Bytecoin's efficiency. The releases will contain a new network library, a network code that would operate significantly faster than the existing one. Moreover, we are going to increase the block synchronization speed and the block relay speed.

Usability is not limited to operational speed only. Understanding that, developers will keep updating Bytecoin Wallet. Its upcoming versions will introduce integrated Block Explorer, and provide ability to mine BCN using the Wallet itself. It will also make online shops purchases easier: the shops will have an option to send invoices to the purchaser. Said invoices will be displayed in the wallet, and user will only need a couple of clicks to pay them.

Additionally, Bytecoiners are adding Multiaddressing feature to Bytecoin RPC Wallet. It will increase efficiency, yet primarily for the third-party businesses. Exchanges, payment processors, online shops will be able to create a unique deposit address for each user. This will allow for abandoning the obsolete approach with utilizing Payment ID.

It is known that cryptocurrencies still have a number of disadvantages compared to traditional solutions. This list is regarded as 'to-do list'. For instance, we are going to increase the transaction processing speed. Real-time transaction synchronization is a feature that allows all network nodes to have identical lists of non-confirmed transactions. This feature can guarantee processing the majority of transactions in 2 minutes max.

Moreover, Aliases will be added. Right into the blockchain.

Bytecoin team has not included the features that they started working on recently. However, the further releases will introduce other fascinating updates such as colored coins and smart contracts. Despite the novelty of the smart contracts, we are sure that they will be adopted quite fast, and by 4th of July in 2016 Bytecoin will have announced APIs for working with smart contracts for third-party services. Of course, that can only be possible if they are not required before that.
