COLOMBIA

They won the Golden Boot and Best goal of the tournament in the previous edition hosted by Brazil that was clinched by James Rodriguez, which prompted his move to Real Madrid.

They finished 4th in the Conmebol qualifiers. Impressed with the defence line that has Yerry Mina, Davinson Sanchez and the veteran Cristian Zapata, goals won’t be in short supply because they boast of a lethal front that has Captain Radamel Falcao, Carlos Bacca, Luis Muriel and James Rodriguez that can score from the midfield as well while Juan Cuadrado and Jose Izquierdo will provide width from the flanks.

Most people see them aa s possible quarterfinalist.

This is where we draw the curtain on our World Cup Preview, thank you so much for taking out to go through it, let’s look forward to enjoying the FIFA World Cup.

JAPAN

In this penultimate edition of our 2018 World Cup Preview of all the 32 teams participating in the 21st FIFA World Cup, we take a look at Japan.

Samurai Blues (as the national team is called), will be making their 7th FIFA World Cup appearance. Their best performances were a Round of 16 exit in 2002 on home soil and in 2010 at South Africa. The Askira Nashino coached side will play in Group H alongside Poland Colombia and Senegal. Japan is a dominant force in Asian football.

They have a pretty good and young squad, however, we are unanimously predicting a Group stage exit for the Asian side.

SENEGAL

Les Lions de la Terenga (as the Senegalese National team is nicknamed), will start of their second ever World Cup campaign in Group H alongside Poland, Colombia and Japan.

The Terenga Lions made their World Cup debut in 2002 as an underdog who you could bet your wife or husband that they will bow out of the Group stage, but that wasn’t the case. The West Africans went ahead to shock the world in the tournament’s first match by beating then defending champions France by a lone goal, drew Denmark and Uruguay before beating Sweden in the Round of 16 and bowing out against Turkey in the quarterfinals. Senegal is one of the three African countries to play a World Cup quarterfinal match, the other two are Cameroon(1990) and Ghana(2010).

They had an interesting qualification campaign, sending home South Africa. Senegal will rely heavily on Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who had a wonderful season with the Reds. He won the UEFA Champions League loser’s medal in the final against Real Madrid.

POLAND

Poland will be making their 8th appearance at the FIFA Coupé de Mundial. Their first was in 1938 while the last time they played in the global soccer fiesta was in 2006. Polish best World Cup performance came in 1974 and 1982 when they finished third on both occasions.

Most of the names of their players won’t ring any bells, except for Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich talisman who netted 41goals in 48 matches for Bayern last season. Lewandowski scored 16 goals in the qualifiers and will be heavily relied on to lead Polish attack to greatness.
