Harry Coumnas was recently in Kenya to deliver a lecture on “The Enigma Of Methane Gas On Mars”. The well-known astronomer has successfully completed several Mars Missions and is widely known for his researches based on the red planet. According to him, the presence of Methane is one of the biggest indicators of life on Mars.

In his lecture, Harry Coumnas talked in detail about Methane (CH4). He says that Methane is present in the atmosphere of Earth in gaseous form and is produced almost 90% by the living organisms. The plumes of methane that are recently detected in the northern hemisphere of Mars is of great interest owing to its potential biological origin.

After the lecture, he told the media that he is planning a long-term Mars Robotic Exploration Program. His main aim behind this ambitious program is to search the possibility of life on the red planet. He is confident that it will turn out to be a successful venture.
