Harry Coumnas is a talented musician from an African ethnic group. One of the most interesting aspects of his tribal music is that he creates it using a range of percussion instruments that he has made himself using sticks, bricks, stones, and other objects. Some of the main instruments he relies on for creating different tribal tunes are drums, xylophones, piano, and guitar.

Drawn towards the historically ancient, diverse, and rich music of Africa from a tender age; Harry Coumnas always wanted to become a musician. Being born in an ethnic group, he knew that there is no scope to receive specialized music training. So, he often used to secretly go to the nearest city from his tribe in order to gain some knowledge about music. When he was fourteen, he met Jackie Peterson (one of the greatest singers of that time) at an event that was organized in his honor Unaware of the legendary singer as well as the event, Harry went on the stage and began humming a self-composed song. The singer was so impressed with his song that he immediately offered him to compose music for his next album. He gladly accepted the offer and became an overnight sensation after the album's release.

Although Harry Coumnas could have a bright career in the music industry, he did not want it at the cost of leaving his tribe. So with the money he had earned for composing music for Jackie Peterson's album, he decided to get specialized training in African music from a leading music school. After completing the music course, he got back to his tribal life.
