App Checks on You Via Text or Email Periodically, and Lets Your Friends Know if You Don't Respond.

Los Angeles, CA, July 14, 2014 -- Palcheck.com today released a new app that lets your loved ones know you're safe, no matter where you are. Users "check in" periodically by responding to a text or email asking if they are okay. If they don't respond, their contacts are notified via email, text or app.

Check-ins can be set for the same times each day, or just when needed most – meeting with a stranger, going somewhere potentially dangerous, arriving at any destination – to ensure someone will be notified should they go missing.

"When I work on a freelance project, I sometimes hole myself up at home for many days," said co-founder Steve Channon. "I used to worry about my pets in the event something happened to me. When I couldn't find an app to help me out, I decided to create one myself, and realized that the app could help a whole spectrum of different types of people."

Palcheck works across a variety of technology platforms. On your computer, check-ins can pop-up on your desktop or come through email. Palcheck works on all tablets and smartphones too – check-ins and alerts can be sent to you via text message (iPhone and Android specific apps coming soon).

Members with a free account can set a single check-in per day, while Premium members can have multiple check-ins per day, different schedules on different days, quicker alerts, and other advanced settings. As the premium features are rolled out until October 2014, early adopters will receive free Premium memberships for life, a savings of $25/year, by using code: "PalcheckMeZZ."

Palcheck is less intrusive than existing parental monitoring devices which track a child's location in real time. Users will soon be able to record their GPS locations, which will only be released to their contacts when there is no response to a check-in AND only if the user has agreed to such a release.

About Palcheck:
Palcheck was invented by Steve and Scott Channon, brothers who each live alone, and sometimes work alone for long periods of time. With no one regularly looking in on them, they wondered who would notice if they were hurt or missing? From that simple premise, Palcheck was born. Lone workers, singletons (live alone), senior citizens, college students, those with disabilities, travelers, and many others who need extra protection can all benefit from Palcheck.
