AFCOD-Uganda has joined FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program to expand its human rights and development work. Led by Samuel Blair Musasizi, the group is raising $5M to scale its impact across Uganda.

Africa Foundation for Community Development (AFCOD-Uganda), a civil society organization committed to advancing human rights, democratic governance, environmental protection, and gender equality, has joined FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program. Based in Uganda and led by founder Samuel Blair Musasizi, AFCOD is currently raising $5 million to scale its impactful programs across the country.

AFCOD-Uganda, founded in 2015, has been at the forefront of tackling urgent societal challenges, including gender-based violence, legal illiteracy, inadequate reproductive health access, environmental degradation, and governance gaps. Through strategic community interventions and rights-based education programs, AFCOD aims to empower vulnerable populations and promote sustainable development.

"We are thrilled to join the LaunchUp program at FasterCapital," said Samuel Blair Musasizi. "This partnership will provide us with the technical and strategic support we need to strengthen our operations, expand our outreach, and accelerate the impact we’re making across Ugandan communities."

FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program supports early-stage startups and organizations by offering business development guidance, fundraising assistance, and access to a global network of experts and investors.

Hesham Zreik, CEO of FasterCapital, shared his thoughts on the partnership: “We are proud to welcome AFCOD-Uganda to our LaunchUp program. Their commitment to social equity and sustainable development aligns with our mission to support impactful ventures.”

He added, “Organizations like AFCOD bring about the kind of systemic change that goes beyond profit. We look forward to working with them as they scale their mission and raise the capital needed to expand their influence.”

With $5M in funding targeted, AFCOD-Uganda aims to enhance its program reach, improve institutional capacity, and deploy innovative solutions that address the root causes of social injustice and environmental harm across Uganda.
