Nahavio Central Limited has joined FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program to raise $2.5M and expand its timber operations in Papua New Guinea, aiming to build a sustainable, locally led export industry.

Nahavio Central Limited, a locally owned timber enterprise based in Papua New Guinea, has joined the LaunchUp program by FasterCapital to accelerate the development of its vertically integrated logging and milling operations. The company, directed by Shane Koniel, is currently raising $2.5 million to scale operations across its four timber concessions, covering over 90,000 hectares under permits and MOUs.

Focused on supplying high-grade hardwood and softwood to both domestic and international markets, Nahavio Central Limited aims to transform underutilized land and empower landowner groups (ILGs) by building an efficient, fully compliant timber export infrastructure. The partnership with FasterCapital is expected to provide crucial technical and business support, as well as access to a broader investor network.

“We are excited to welcome Nahavio Central Limited to the LaunchUp program,” said Bashar Hamood, Venture Partner at FasterCapital. “Their vision to build a sustainable and scalable timber export operation is both ambitious and well-aligned with our mission of supporting high-impact ventures in emerging markets.”

Hamood added, “Nahavio is tackling a critical gap in Papua New Guinea’s timber industry by professionalizing the value chain from harvest to export. We’re proud to support their journey.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Director Shane Koniel stated, “Joining FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program is a major milestone for us. With their strategic backing, we are confident in our ability to expand operations, reach new markets, and unlock economic value for our local communities.”

Nahavio Central Limited continues to seek strategic partners and investors as it drives forward its mission of transforming Papua New Guinea’s timber sector into a world-class, locally led industry.
