Today marks the official launch of the online Shamisen Course, "Learn Shamisen" by Hikari Shirafuji and Kanami Takeda- also known as KIKI - winners of Japan’s Tsugaru Shamisen National Competitions.

Filled level-specific lessons and tips catering to beginners through advanced players. “Learn Shamisen” covers a wide range of knowledge including basics, advanced skills, and instrument care. With students from around the world, there’s something for everyone!

"Learn Shamisen" allows students to learn at their own pace, anytime and anywhere. While primarily an online school, the platform also offers member-exclusive in-person events to foster interaction between instructors and members.

With over 100 lessons and videos of content from Japanese folk songs, popular covers, and original compositions by KIKI, you can practice various songs from day one!

WHO ARE KIKI?!
KIKI - Established in 2008 by Hikari Shirafuji and Kanami Takeda, an authentic Tsugaru Shamisen duo. Both have won national competitions and are a popular female Tsugaru Shamisen unit globally. KIKI specializes in incorporating various music genres into traditional Tsugaru Shamisen folk songs, and original compositions showcasing the Shamisen’s unique techniques.

Kanami Takeda:
Winner of the Tsugaru Shamisen National Competition - Women's Division (2007) etc.
