Under the sponsorship of the Galileo Foundation, and in concert with Human Thread Foundation, the Nuns Healing Hearts exhibition was officially launched by Pope Francis on May 10th at the Vatican, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Talitha Kum nuns combating Human Trafficking around the world. Lisa has spent the last year and a half documenting the humble work of these courageous nuns working on the frontlines.

The Sisters usually live and work on the ground in the very communities where the trafficking is taking place. They live day by day in the community with victims and survivors.

Everyone understands sexual exploitation, but there are different kinds of slavery; whether they are young fishermen in Thailand, or children working in mines in Ghana, the Sisters are there beside them.

In over 75 countries on 5 continents, thousands of nuns work tirelessly on our behalf to make sure that the victims and survivors know that they are not forgotten. This exhibition shows their work in Guatemala, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Italy, and the United States.

We give thanks for their service over the past 10 years and celebrate their efforts over the next 10 years for the eradication of Human Trafficking. Please visit NunsHealingHearts.org to learn more and to support their work.
