Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the project site has remained derelict due to the suspension of operations and Lithium Extraction Works see this as an opportunity to help the local community by saving jobs and restarting mining operations.

Lithium Extraction Works’ Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Arturo Ortega commented on the imminent takeover saying “This year has been a very testing time for global companies and in some cases, companies have not managed to survive this pandemic. However, in turbulent times, opportunities do arise and we see this opportunity as a welcome addition to our expanding portfolio.”

“We are in a very fortunate position due to our balance sheets being in order and our financial power have put Lithium Extraction Works in good stead for the forthcoming and uncertain future. If all goes according to plan, the deal should be finalized in the coming weeks. Lithium Extraction Works will also be following measures to mitigate environmental impacts that may result from the project development,” added Arturo Ortega, Executive Vice Chairman of Lithium Extraction Works.
