SANTIAGO/REGION METROPOLITANA - Lithium Extraction Works announced that they have started scale evaporation testing on brine samples from its Salar de Turi lithium brine project site.

Lithium Extraction Works extracted a 4,000 litre sample taken from the Salar de Turi site and was sent to company’s portable lab. The lithium brine sample will be evaporation tested and analyzed to evaluate how to produce various lithium salts.

Lithium Extraction Works will test the sample in controlled temperature environments taking into account wind, humidity and pressure conditions whilst also performing a lithium recovery analysis.

Lithium Extraction Works’ recent sampling indicated lithium values in the range of 35.8 parts per million (ppm) to 130 ppm with an average lithium concentration of 526 ppm.

Lithium Extraction Works’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alejandro C. Salas commented on the Salar de Turi project saying “Our exploration method at the Salar de Turi site is progressing well thanks to the hard work of the exploration team. Evaporation testing is a massive achievement towards developing a study for potential production of lithium salts and concentrate and we are looking forward to see the exact details of the results.”
